We’re proud to announce that the power for the Hypnox studio and offices comes from clean, emissions-free sources like wind power and low-impact water power. Choosing green, carbon-free power is an easy way to do your part to help fight climate change and create a healthier environment for future generations. That’s why more and more homes and businesses are choosing to go green with Bullfrog Power.

Bullfrog sources power exclusively from generators who meet or exceed the federal government’s standard for renewable electricity. Bullfrog Power comes from clean, emissions-free sources like wind power and low-impact water power instead of carbon-intensive sources like coal and oil.

The pursuit of beauty in the 21st century has recently been compared to a walk through a minefield. Cosmetics companies take full advantage of loopholes in the legal system, using products during the manufacturing process which compromise both our physical health and that of our environment. They prey upon our fear of aging, and our issues with self-esteem, and boost their bottom lines by riding upon the coat-tails of our incurable longing for beauty and youth.

Toxic Ingredients
Beauty products commonly contain neurotoxins like lead, mercury and Botulinum Toxin Type A, carcinogens like formaldehyde, paraben and dioxane, and hormone disruptors like phthalates which cause cancer, reproductive problems and birth defects. Phthalates increase testosterone and estrogen levels in humans (raised hormone levels are a central cause of breast cancer) – and in 2004, Dr Philippa Darbre at the University of Reading published a study in the Journal of Applied Toxicology that said her group tested 20 different human breast tumors and found parabens in all of them (neither she nor anyone else could explain how they got there).

“Chemicals have replaced bacteria and viruses as the main threat to health. The diseases we are beginning to see as the major causes of death in the latter part of (the 1900′s) and into the 21st century are diseases of chemical origin.” Dr. Dick Irwin, Toxicologist, Texas A&M University

The Environmental Working Group, based in Washington, D.C. says that 89 percent of the 10,500 ingredients used in personal care products have never been assessed for safety by any publicly accountable organization. Many of these chemicals never cause obvious signs of toxicity on the skin, but they contain potent systemic toxins which can remain in the body for a terribly long time. We have no idea what these chemicals do when they interact in our bodies.. quite simply, we are daily creating a toxic soup.

Environmental Impact
And then there is the endless plastic packaging. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, only 5.7% of total plastic solid waste in the U.S. was recycled and diverted from landfills in 2005. Although laws are trying to reduce the amount of packaging waste and to promote recycling, plastic remains by far the favourite packaging material for cosmetics and toiletries. Metal packaging, meanwhile, is suffering in comparison. Paperboard prospects are relatively good but, considering the expected rise in supply costs, innovation strategies will become essential for it to remain competitive.

Psychological Concerns
Finally, not only does the cosmetics industry prey upon our environment, and upon our physical health.. but also upon our psychological sense of well-being. Deploying a constant and hypnotic media bombardment of imagery portraying perfect beauty and endless youth, the cosmetics industry then preys upon our yearning for that unattainable imagery they have created. In addition, they seem to trust that our hunger for youth and beauty will make us blind (or else to simply not care) about the dangers their products present to our health and to the environment.

There is an alternative.

An Alternative
Hypnox is a 25-minute hypnotherapeutic audio recording developed as a natural alternative to Botox and other toxic anti-aging products. Where Botox paralyzes the facial muscles, making it nearly impossible to frown, Hypnox targets and re-trains those same muscles. The process stops frowning, and allows wrinkles to fade away, permanently.

Physically
Absentminded frowning or furrowing of the face (while working or concentrating) WILL cause the skin to wrinkle. The more persistent and habitual the frown, the more aggressively the wrinkling will take hold.

Hypnotherapy is ideally designed to fight habits – it has been used successfully by millions of people as an aid to quit smoking, or to curb over-eating. If you think of persistent frowning as a habit, Hypnox then makes perfect sense.

Although the main focus of Hypnox is reducing frown lines, crows’ feet, and the vertical lines around the mouth caused by habitually negative expressions, the recording also incorporates the added benefit of a soporific effect.. it eases you naturally toward a relaxing and regenerative good night’s sleep.

Psychologically
Hypnox is, before anything else, a product which wants to encourage beauty from the inside out, relying solely upon our own personal strength, will and positivity. Botox and other anti-aging products invite us to feel better inside by focusing on our outer appearance. This seldom works – our inner world doesn’t transform because we look better. We don’t feel calmer or happier because we look better. At best, this is a temporary solution.

Hypnox invites us to improve our outer appearance by transforming us from the inside. This is the best of all possible worlds. By starting inside, our physical transformation is real and we feel genuinely better, in so many respects.

In addition to the retraining of the facial muscles, Hypnox employs a series of psychologically proven self-affirmations near the end of the recording. These promote and strengthen a healthy and positive self-image in the listener – and of course.. the happier you feel, the less you frown.

Environmentally
Each Hypnox CD is packaged in a sleek white metal CD tin emblazoned with a vibrant Hypnox flower. Plastic materials have been kept to a minimum and the CD is shipped in simple kraft-paper packaging (and of course, unlike other anti-aging products, Hypnox needs to be purchased only once). The recording is also available as an MP3 download – an alternative that is easier on your pocketbook, and even easier on the environment.

Look younger. Sleep better. Feel happier
Hypnox wants you to love yourself. With this daily bombardment of advertising for potions and creams and chemicals and peels and lasers and surgeons and scalpels and needles – the homogeneous end results sometimes seem inescapable. Hypnox offers the natural alternative : your unique face, free of unnecessary lines and wrinkles, and glowing with the full range of human emotion.

That is true beauty.

Stop the Frowning Habit in its Tracks
The only true alternative to Botox would be a product which could mimic the paralytic effect on the muscles. For wrinkles caused by habitual frowning, the skin must be given a chance to smooth out and heal.

Here is your alternative:

You MUST become aware of the fact that you are habitually frowning – awareness is the legendary first step in breaking a habit.

The subsequent steps (as they apply to wrinkles) are as follows:

Choose new habits – like smiling, and a warm, welcoming, calm default expression.

Determine your specific goal – in this case, smoother skin.

Visualize the results (perhaps use a photo of yourself looking calm and happy, NOT FROWNING)

Create a deadline – decide that you will eradicate your frown-related wrinkles by a certain date.

Ensure that your goal is YOURS. You want to be wrinkle-free because YOU want to, and not because someone else has told you that you must be.

Think of your goal as if it has already occurred. Try telling yourself, “My face is now calm and wrinkle-free” and not “I want to look younger” (the subconscious responds well to the present tense.)

Develop confidence in yourself and your abilities, by repeating your positive declarations from Step 7 nightly as you fall asleep, and by becoming more aware of, and controlling, your negative self-talk. Consider using motivational recordings (like hypnox).

Be persistent. Do not give up.

Look at your lovely face in the mirror – and know that you are beautiful, inside AND out.

Botox and other anti-aging products invite us to feel better inside by focusing on our outer appearance. This seldom works – our inner world doesn’t transform because we look better. We don’t feel calmer or happier because we look better. At best, this is a temporary solution.

The truth is, there simply is no need to be injected with a powerful neurotoxin, in an attempt to paralyze your muscles to prevent frowning.

Hypnox can help you put your trust in your own strength, will and positivity… you will simply stop frowning

Another wonderful interview, this time with Mary K Nolan from the Hamilton Spectator. Text follows :

If the thought of a needle between the eyes brings a furrow to your brow, Joan Krygsman can make it go away.

The Dundas hypnotherapist says her method of reducing crow’s feet, forehead creases and brow lines does not involve unpleasant injections or expensive creams.

Hypnox is an audio program of relaxation techniques that target the facial muscles responsible for wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, across the bridge of the nose and forehead and between the eyebrows.

Krygsman, 40, is promoting Hypnox as a safe, long-lasting, non-invasive and affordable alternative to Botox, the popular but controversial botulinum toxin that is injected directly into the affected sites.

She maintains that Hypnox, if followed for 30 days, can break the habits that cause wrinkling and creasing on the face.

Squinting, frowning, pursing the lips, clenching the jaw and screwing up the nose are all just habits.

These habits can be broken by concentrated relaxation and mindfulness, just like smoking, overeating, nail-biting and other habits treated successfully with hypnosis.

Eventually, the muscles that control those actions become permanently relaxed resulting in a smoother face, says Krygsman.

The theory is simple, logical and natural, which is an important factor at a time when consumers are increasingly leery of chemicals and additives in beauty products.

Krygsman says it has proven popular with women over 35, not so much with men.

It is harder to sell in Canada than in the States, and consumers in Texas, Arizona and California love it, she says.

She’s still trying to figure out the demographics, but admits that some people simply don’t like the idea of hypnosis.

They equate it with quackery and loss of control, a stigma perpetuated by movies and stage shows.

“But you are the one in control,” she explains. “I can’t make you do anything you don’t want to do.

“People say ‘Can you make me cluck like a chicken,’” Krygsman laughs.

“I say ‘If you want to cluck like a chicken, I can make you cluck like a chicken. But only if you want to.’

“Hypnosis is accepted for so many applications within the medical community,” says the mother of three-year-old Fritha, who was delivered with the help of self-hypnosis.

Hypnosis is just a state of deep relaxation and inner concentration, where distractions and external stimuli are minimized.

Hypnox, which is nothing more than Krygsman’s calming voice issuing clear instructions, is designed to be used at bedtime.

The program, available as a CD for $24.99 or MP3 download for $14.99, begins with progressive muscle relaxation starting at the feet and ending at the head.

Then, the focus shifts to the calming of the five main groups of facial muscles before ending with a posthypnotic suggestion to ensure those muscles remain relaxed through the night.

Unlike Botox, a neurotoxin with a range of potential side-effects, the only possible side-effect of Hypnox is a good night’s sleep, Krygsman notes.

“It’s a very simple idea and it works,” says Krygsman, who recommends Hypnox for individual use at home as an adjunct to spa therapies or to prolong the effects of Botox treatments.

Although unfamiliar with Hypnox, Hamilton dermatologist Peter Vignjevic says the idea sounds harmless at worst and potentially effective at best.

“Theoretically, if hypnosis could stop you using those muscles that control the frowning action, it should work,” says Vignjevic, who practices medical and cosmetic dermatology.

“Frowning is just a habit. People don’t even realize they’re doing it.

“If you can relax and be taught not to furrow your brow, it should help,” says Vignjevic.

He agrees that Hypnox could complement Botox.

Another press mention, this time in Cosmetic Surgery Today! Text to follow :

If you’re anxious to erase a few years without surgery, hypnotherapy may soon become your ultimate beauty secret.

Hypnox is a 25-minute audio recording designed to give your facial muscles a workout while you sleep. By flexing your muscles in a specific sequence, the treatment attempts to re-train your facial muscles so that you are less likely to frown, squint or exaggerate your facial expressions – the expressions that often lead to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

Hypnox promises to tighten and tone the skin so that wrinkles fade away permanently. All you need to do is pop in the CD before bedtime and listen to the voice of a trained therapist who guides you through the hypnotherapy session. You’ll begin to relax and fall into a meditative mode as you re-train specific muscles across the forehead, across the bridge of the nose and around the eyes. Botox has long been a non-surgical choice for those who want to get rid of frown lines or wrinkles across the forehead, but requires ‘freezing’ the muscles in place. Hypnox offers a natural solution for reducing wrinkles and improving the contours of the face without any needles or incisions.

The makers of Hypnox suggest that “Hypnox will prevent the negative stress which manifests in your face during sleep (ie tooth grinding, jaw clenching, tongue thrusting, scowling and frowning) while your subconscious teaches you to become more aware of – and to release – any unnecessary tensions in your face during the day.”

Is it really time to say ‘no’ to Botox and give those facial muscles a workout instead? Facial yoga works using a similar strategy, encouraging progressive relaxation to tighten and tone muscles in the face and neck area. Laughter Yoga also helps target key facial muscles so that wrinkles and lines are less likely to appear.

Prevention, it seems, is still one of the best anti aging secrets.

Text of the article below :

Your mind over.. wrinkles? Botox treatments can hide laugh lines and crows’ feet – but Hypnosis therapy may help limit wrinkles caused by frowning or furrowing, according to Doris Day, MD, a dermatologist and clinical assistant professor at New York University Medical School. Day sometimes recommends hypnosis to patients. Try it at home with Hypnox, a 25-minute CD designed to be listened to before bed. If it helps you relax, that’s good for your skin too.
